The handloom saree of Odisha is known worldwide as amongst the finest in both Silk and Cotton. In Sambalpuri Ikat saree is famous is not only in Sambalpur and Bargarh district of Odisha but also it worldwide famous saree. In this saree Tie and Dye technique or process involved. It is known worldwide as the Ikat saree. Perhaps one of the oldest technique which has wide acceptance till date in Textiles Industries. Tie and Dye (Ikat) is nothing but tying of yarn or cloth and dyeing. The Ikat dye is produced under the resist dyeing process of yarn.
The Tie and Dye technique of weaving textile is known as Bandha in Odisha. Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Barpali, Bijepur and other adjoining villages in Western Odisha. The motif of this inspired by the Jhoti and Cheeta of tribal people.
There are two types of Tie-Dye Saree
1. Single Ikat (Tie-Dye)

2. Double Ikat (Tie-Dye)
In double Ikat technique in which both the Warp and Weft Tie and Dye.
Technique applies:
