Earlier when the design required on fabric the weaver has used the Jala technique . In this technique, we require a Jala frame in which there is the Pagia, Naka and the Khewa is the main important parts of this Jala . It produces both in border and cross-border design on the cloth. In this technique, we used an extra weft to fill the design. REED| Definition of Reed: Function of Reed in Handloom It is a metallic Reed or Comb that is fixed to Sley /Slay with a Reed cap at handloom . The stick of Reed is called Split/wire and the space between two-wire/split is known as Dent. There are 2(two) types of Reed : a. Country Reed (Bamboo Reed) b.
