Primary Motion of Weaving of Hand Loom | secondary motion of Hand Loom| Basic motion of Handloom |
Weaving is one of the processes that require in textile in term of producing fabric. Weaving is a process that includes the interlacing of two types of yarn that is 'Warp' and 'Weft.' In order to interlace the warp and weft for producing fabric, it occurs any types of loom. There are three types of motion of weaving are found such as:-

Primary Motion:
The Primary motion is an important motion for producing fabric. In primary motion which often three types of M/c known as Shedding, Picking and Beating.
a. Shedding process
The process of separating the warp threads into two layers by raising the heald shaft is known as shedding and which is produce a triangular shape is known as a tunnel. There are 3 types of shedding:
a. Centre Closed shed
b. Top Closed shed
c. Bottom Closed shed
b. Picking process
In the picking process, the weft threads go from one shuttle box to another shuttle box through the shed by means of Shuttle, Projectile, Needle, Airjet and water jet is known as picking.
c. Beating process
In the beating, process beat the newly inserted pick in yo the fell of the cloth by means Reed known as the beating process.
Secondary Motion:
These M/c are next important to the primary M/c. To continue the weaving process these M/c are essentially known as Let-off and Take -up Motion.
a. Let-off process:
In a let-off motion that the warp yarn delivers to the weaving area at a required rate at sustainable constant tension by unwinding it from the warp beam.
b. Take-up process:
In take -up motion that withdraw the fabric from the weaving area at a constant rate that will give required picks per spacing, picks per inch picks per Centimetre and then winds it on to a roller. The secondary motion is carryout simultaneously.
Auxiliary Motion :
To get high productivity and good quality of fabric additional, M/c are called Auxiliary M/c are added to a Handloom and as well as plain power loom. The Auxiliary M/c are useful but not absolutely essential. These are listed below-
- Warp stop Motion
- Warp protector M/c
- Weft stop Motion
- Using of Temple
- Breaking M/c
- Pirn changing M/c
